Comment spam

When I was first implementing SubText as my blog engine, I had run into problems with ReverseDOS and ended up ripping out the entire configuration for it. How much comment spam could I possibly get?

It turns out a lot. So today I went back and set up my ReverseDOS configuration file. Hopefully that will curtail the worst of it.

Great blog! Just started picking up your feed about two weeks ago.

Yeah, you’ll get a lot. One thing I’ve been trying to figure out with ReverseDOS is how to allow Trackbacks. Ever since I installed ReverseDOS I don’t get comment spam but I don’t get any trackbacks either. Do you have this problem?

I haven’t really looked too much into trackbacks to be honest. There are people who link back to my site, but they don’t register as a trackback. I’m not sure how the blog engine software handles them yet, or what their purpose is.

In any case, there are still comment spam problems, so I’ll have to keep working at the filters.

Ok, thanks. I’ve not had a problem with comment spam since installing ReverseDOS..until today. For some reason I had 153 comment spams this morning. Obviousley I didn’t change the filters right. 🙂
